Micropropagation is the growth of plants in tissue cultures and then planting them out after germination. There are many advantages of micropropagation for example they require very little growing space and there is an enhancement in the rate of plant multiplication. Also they will grow to be pathogen free in these conditions and micropropagation yields 50% males and 50% females.
However there are some disadvantages for example there is a demand for skill in handling and maintaining the plants and sophisticated facilities are required. Also there is a lack of disease resistance within the plants grown in this culture.
